"Burning Down the House"

Five years ago when we lived in corporate housing in Atlanta, I was heating some oil on the stove so I could make some fried mushrooms for lunch. Well, I got it started and then the phone rang. I had to run to the back room to get it because Cassidy had been playing with the phone in the dining room and I had unplugged it. Guess who it was... a telemarketer (darn them!). When I got back to the kitchen seconds later the flames from the pan were 4 to 5 feet high and black smoke was rolling across the ceiling. It didn't take long for the sprinklers to come on and not only in our apartment but the 5 floors beneath us. Needless to say, it was a mess! Amazingly enough nothing major was damaged by either the fire or the water. Not even our computer or camera that were doused by the sprinklers. Since Matt's company was paying for our rent and all of the furniture inside of the apartment, we weren't out a dime. They paid for all of the damage. Boy, we got lucky. Or maybe luck had nothing to do with it...

House For Sale

We decided that it was time to sell our house in Georgia. If you know anyone looking for a house in the Atlanta area please pass this along. We can get them a great deal. : )

Time Flies...

I guess I only took Kennedy's pictures for the
first year. Just watch those cheeks and
thighs grow...

...When You're Having Fun!

When Cassidy and Kennedy were born
I tried to take a photo of them each month
until they were two. As you can see I missed
some months or misplaced the pictures
somewhere. This is the first time I've put them
together to see the little changes that happen so
quickly when they're wee ones.

Ouch Continued...

On Tuesday, Cameron was playing with a laminated card and somehow scratched his cornea with it. His eye doctor said corneal abrasions are pretty painful especially when you blink. So he applied a contact lens bandage on his right eye to help with the pain. Unfortunately this means lots of drops (which Cameron is not a fan of) and even application of some medication that is ike vaseline. Not fun for either of us. Today, while we were in seeing the optometrist I started having major back pain. So I went to my doctor who happened to be upstairs and sure enough another kidney stone. Let's call this one Cornelia -- or Corny for short. Hopefully I can pass her without any more pain.
