DAY 4
This is the last day I promise!
We spent the morning hanging by the
(salt water) pool reading and doing sudoku.
Here's a glimpse of my view from my pool chair.
Palm trees just make me happy.
North of Kona they have a long stretch of lava
graffiti (made with white rocks) along side the road.
Matt and I thought it would be fun to leave our mark
on the Big Island too. So if you ever go to the Big Island,
look on the east side of Highway 19 between
mile marker 93 and 94 and you should see this...
Those who broke ancient Hawaii's law - perhaps
by treading on the shadow of a chief, or fishing in the
wrong season - could expect execution unless they fled (swam)
to this sanctuary called "Place of Refuge". If successful, they would
our judicial system doesn't work this way today.
Matt looks just like them doesn't he?
We also had the opportunity to see the Kona Hawaii Temple.
It was absolutely beautiful at night.
We had a fabulous time in Hawaii! We are so
incredibly lucky to have such great friends who
willing watched our three little ones while we were
partying it up. We love you guys!

So your trip DID look really great. But don't feel too sorry for us here at home...a basketball game, movies, popcorn, pizza, etc. were really fun, too. :) And your kids are angels.
It has been nice living vicariously through your pictures... thanks for taking us with you on the adventure.

I been to most of those places. Do you remember when Mary and Bill took Heidi and I to Kona with them? I am glad you and Matt got a much deserved trip away together. You guys are such a amazing couple and have been a great example to me for over ten years now! Love you!
